Daily Prayer Guide for Vietnam Medical Mission April 14 – 30th, 2010
Hue, Thua Thein Hue Province, Vietnam
Wednesday - Saturday, April 14-17th Team Travel Days
· Pray that all will make their domestic flights on time, for good weather, and that no one or their luggage is left behind.
· That the team will be of one heart and mind in Christ bound together by His love to bring glory and honor to the risen Lord.
· That their hearts and minds will be set on things of the Lord and that the team will have a sense of His peace and joy.
· For the Lord’s provision and protection of team members as they travel to San Francisco, Taipei, Taiwan and Vietnam.
· Pray for our Vietnam national partners, the government and Church entities, that their will not be any last minute issues before our arrival.
· That we would be able to clear customs in Ho Chi Minh City with the medical supplies, medications, and equipment.
· Pray for safe transportation from airports to hotels to airports.
· That the orientation time on Saturday would be interesting, special, and enlightening.
· Pray for great fellowship, friendship, and love between our national partners, government officials, interpreters and team.
Sunday, April 18th Checking into Hotel and Preparing for Clinic Work
· Pray for the safety of team member Quyen Thi Tran Williams as she travels from Da Nang to Hue with the team’s medicine
and the team’s local transportation – 6 vans.
· Pray that the service on Sunday by Pastor Nguyen Van Chinh will be a blessing and an encouragement to the team.
· That the flight to Hue from Saigon will be on-time and the flight safe.
· Pray for the team meeting this day, for unity, good preparation, and a restful night’s sleep.
Monday, April 19th through Saturday, April 24th Daily Clinic
· Pray that we can minister effectively in another culture.
· That two Vietnamese Pharmacists joining the team on Monday will have safe travel from Saigon to Hue and to the clinic.
· Pray against the evil spiritual forces that can attack in any area.
· That all team members will take the personal responsibility to be on-time for all team meetings, debriefings, and work.
· For the health and wellness of the team with the long hours and much less personal and private time.
· For the healing of the patients through the team’s medical/health services and the power of the Great Physician.
· For daily safety as we travel to and from the hotel, and while the team conducts the clinic.
· Pray for the team’s family members at home and for their peace and provision.
· Pray for the team leader, Chuck Ward, as he deals with government authorities each and every day.
· Pray for physical, emotional, spiritual strength, and focus that would bring honor to VWAM and glory to Jesus.
· Pray that many would respond to the hands-on Gospel message that the team will impart through their actions.
· Pray for the crowd that will press in on each day at the clinic, especially the last day, when the team sees patients.
Thursday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 24th Travel Days
· Pray for safe travel as team members Tom Grassano and Jeff Bailey return to the US on April 22nd, for Team Leader Chuck
Ward, VWAM Board Members Bob Peragallo, and Tim Schwulst as they travel to Da Nang on April 23rd for an important meeting with government officials, and for two Vietnamese Pharmacists who return to Saigon the evening of April 24th.
Saturday, April 24th Pack Up & Finish Work
· Pray that every person who needed to be seen was indeed seen at the clinics.
· That the exit from the clinic would be orderly for team members and uneventful for the Vietnamese.
· Pray for safety as the team completes its last day of clinic services, distributes supplies, and packs up equipment.
· That all patients who received surgery and hospitalizations will recover without complications.
· Pray for the health of the team that they will enjoy adequate rest and relaxation after this period of intense work.
· That the translators/Interpreters will have been influenced toward the Gospel and will have established genuine friendships
with team members.
Sunday, April 25 through Tuesday, April 27th Travel Days & Touring
· That the team enjoys safe travel during their excursions in Hue City.
· Pray for safe travel for team members Quyen Thi Tran Williams and Joette Ward who travel to Da Nang.
· That team members will remain in good health during this time off from work.
· That team member’s who are veterans will have positive experiences visiting the places where they served in the war.
· Pray for safety and protection as the team travels to Dong Ha, Quang Tri Province, and goes on various tour outings.
· That the door of ministry might be opened within the team and to those they come in contact with.
Tuesday, April 27th through Thursday, April 27th Team Travel Day and R&R
· Safety and protection as the team travels to Da Nang from Dong Ha.
· Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the finals team meetings and devotions during this time.
· That team members enjoy good health and safe excursions during this time in Da Nang, Hoi An, and the area.
· Pray that the veterans being honored the last evening in Da Nang will experience closure and appreciation for their
service during the Vietnam War.
Friday, April 30th through Saturday, May 1st Team Travel Days
· Pray for safe travel as most of the team leaves Da Nang this morning for San Francisco via Saigon and Taipei, Taiwan.
· Many will travel long-distances to return to such places as Vancouver, BC, Canada and even to the East Coast of the US.
· Other team members will remain overnight in San Francisco and continue on home Saturday, May 1.
· Pray for the teams health and wellness and the ability to fight off fatigue and jet lag.
· That all flights run on schedule, connections are made easily, and that all baggage arrives home with team members.
· Pray that Sunday, May 2, will truly be a “Day of Rest” for team members.
· That the physical condition of the team will be one of good health and stamina as they return to work on Monday, May 3.
· Pray that we as a team we will be able to share what God has done in Vietnam with clarity and completeness so that He
will receive all the glory, honor, and praise that He deserves.
